Nestled in a quiet pocket of the Western Ghats in Maharashtra, the Lake House is imagined as a creative oasis away from the chaos of Mumbai. The site ends in a peninsula surrounded by a lake. The house is perched at the highest elevation on this peninisula and takes advantage of the green and blue vistas all around.
The main living room is surrounded by a wrap around verandah. The framed view of the lake is revealed as one enters the living room and is led through a sequence of spaces, all designed for leisure offering a continuous flow of activity in connection with nature, the lake and the view.
The bedrooms at the Lake House are situated at the far end of the structure closest to the grove of trees. Each bedroom is planned with ample space for leisure, work, and movement for the family as well as any friends who visit. Around the bedrooms, the trees become a natural screen, ensuring privacy at all times. ⠀
